In addition, most of the country (210 million Americans), now have their municipal water fluoridated without the consent of the homeowner. Fluoride is a nasty chemical derived from the fertilizer industry as a waste product from its manufacturing process. All of these chemicals have been shown to have deleterious health effects including reduced IQ in children.
Installing a washable, reusable air filter can help save you money over disposable filters—which must be frequently repurchased (approximately every 90 days in the average suburban home, and every 60 days or sooner if you have pets). Instead of fully replacing your filter several times a year (which can be very costly), simply wash and reinstall your new K&N® lifetime washable home air filter in your cooling and heating system.
Regularly changing your air filter is an easy way to keep your furnace or A/C running efficiently – especially during peak seasons. A fresh home air filter will help extend the life of your HVAC unit and reduce maintenance costs over time. Most importantly, you and your family will breathe fresh air and avoid harmful airborne allergens and viruses.
Great product, great customer service, fast shipping! I have always been a stickler on changing my filter monthly because to me it’s better to spend a few extra dollars along the way then pay a large maintenance bill. I love this service because I no longer have to remember to go to the store to buy the filters and I just replace it when it shows up at my front door!

"...Was told that even to pick up my things from the warehouse, there would be an extra $40 charge. So now I had an extra $40 charge, along with costs from having to hire a mover. Additionally, I was told that if we did not move out our things by Saturday (and they would not be able to deliver until Tuesday), there would be an additional $59 charge for an extra month of service.Because of Door to Door's original inability to deliver, we were suddenly facing all of these additional charges along with the hassle of having to transport our things from the storage unit (40 minutes away) to our dorm."
8p this past saturday this dude in his mid 20s came to my door selling something similar. he led on that he represented (was subbed for) the utility company. he kept insisting that he needed to see my water shutoff valve and he had something that would save me a lot of money (more money than i actually pay in water consumption!). i kept letting him talk just to shoot down his bullshit circle talking, it was more amusing for me to troll his nonsense and keep him in the cold while wasting both our times. definitely didn't let him in. interesting how others also agree this was bullshit, yet sad to know others fall for this.

Always clean the dryer filter after every load.    This will help reduce the amount of lint going down the whole dryer duct inside your house.     Having excess lint in your dryer trap can cause the dryer to work harder and even overheat.   Go outside and feel the airflow coming out of the exhaust vent when the dryer is running.   There should be a strong, hot flow of air once the dryer has been running a few minutes.  Have the dryer ducting between the dryer and the exterior cleaned about once a year.   If this duct becomes clogged, there are the possibilities of overheating and fire.    Here’s a helpful link for more information
Some furnaces come equipped with this filter, and there are various configurations.   Find the manual and become familiar with it’s operation. You can pull out the filters and check them, make sure they are clean and in place.   Hire a forced air heating specialist if you are unsure about how to operate / clean it and have them show you how it works.
Fiberglass air filters are very thin and they have a simple flat panel surface for trapping particles from the air. They were originally developed to protect your heating and air conditioning equipment, not to improve your indoor air quality. They can often be purchased for less than $1 apiece. Unfortunately, they remove less than 10% of the air pollutants from your home. They have a MERV rating between 1 and 4.
While The Home Depot uses FPR, the industry standard is to use the air filter rating system of Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value (MERV). The MERV rating system helps you choose the filter right for you, with each rating dictating the effectiveness of a filter. The higher the MERV rating, the more efficient the filter, and the more a filter can catch harmful pollutants.
Check the outside of the  housing for buildup of debris, which can impact the efficiency of the unit.    Grass clippings and dryer lint particularly can foul the grates.  Be careful not to dent the heat exchanger fins, if exposed (more common on older units).   These look alot like a car radiator, or the outside of a window A/C unit.   Keep the area around the unit free of plants and materials, to help the air to flow freely for best efficiency.

Unfortunately, HEPA filters restrict too much air to be used as a traditional furnace filter. A HEPA filter is extremely efficient, but a significant amount of air pressure is needed to force air through a HEPA filter. A typical HVAC system will not be equipped to provide enough air pressure to use a HEPA filter (which basically means that no air would blow out of your registers). In order to use a HEPA filter for whole house filtration, you need to install a separate HEPA filtration system. A system like this will pull some of the air out of the regular air flow through your furnace, and then boost the air and pass it through a HEPA filter. The extremely filtered air is then returned back into the normal air flow.  Source

For those on municipal water, about 80% of Americans, the water is treated in most instances with a variety of chemicals such as disinfectants like chlorine, chloramines, as well as acid neutralizers and more. These chemical disinfectants also cause the creation of disinfection by-products known as trihalomethanes (THMs) and haloacetic acids (HAA).

After reviewing the website and Door to Door® Services Offered, I was ready to call customer service and get a quote. Yes, you have to call. Live chats and online quotes do not exist for their moving services, but they are available for storage. I also looked at the areas the company serves beforehand. Although there is only one Door to Door location in New Jersey located in Randolph( which is 50 minutes to an hour by car from my home in Fort Lee), there are locations in New York that are much closer.
Mechanical air filters remove dust by capturing it on the filter medium, the material that makes up the filter element. A mechanical air filter is any type of dry media filter. All of the throwaway air filters used in HVAC systems and Air Handlers are mechanical air filters. Any man made or natural fiber filter is a mechanical air filter. This includes HEPA air filters as well.  Source
