8p this past saturday this dude in his mid 20s came to my door selling something similar. he led on that he represented (was subbed for) the utility company. he kept insisting that he needed to see my water shutoff valve and he had something that would save me a lot of money (more money than i actually pay in water consumption!). i kept letting him talk just to shoot down his bullshit circle talking, it was more amusing for me to troll his nonsense and keep him in the cold while wasting both our times. definitely didn't let him in. interesting how others also agree this was bullshit, yet sad to know others fall for this.
Okay, I get it. Door to Door does not serve the entire country in the way a company like U-Haul does, nor does it go abroad even to places, such as our neighbor Canada. That's fine. But the website suggested it did provide moving services for New York City and Orlando and their surrounding areas. Fort Lee, NJ, the starting point for this hypothetical move, is literally home to the George Washington Bridge, which links the Garden State to Manhattan. Manhattan and the Bronx, which is even closer to Fort Lee, are both listed as moving destinations for Door to Door. In fact, U-Haul was possibly going to make the warehouse for my stuff be its Bronx location. So, Door to Door seems small potatoes if it can't provide service in a part of northern New Jersey that is as close to NYC as my town is.
Great product, great customer service, fast shipping! I have always been a stickler on changing my filter monthly because to me it’s better to spend a few extra dollars along the way then pay a large maintenance bill. I love this service because I no longer have to remember to go to the store to buy the filters and I just replace it when it shows up at my front door!
Despite anything, management tells you. By accepting this job you have decided you are a door to door salesman. Did not start this way, new management in the last few years has run this company reputation into the ground. No more company appointments, they expect you to sell all your family and then become a door to door salesman. 100% commission, job that requires you to work 6 days a week. Just a matter of time... for the lawsuit. Same goes for Chatsworth and Anaheim offices. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this company. You will burn through your savings.
We carry discount air filters in 1-2 inch standard sizes, and 3-5 inch media sizes. Our air filters are great and work well in HVAC systems, furnace and air conditioner systems. If you are looking for a custom size air filter you can request that we make a special size for you. As always, we offer free shipping and returns on all of our discount furnace filters.
In addition, my parents are moving from Fort Lee, NJ to Ridgefield Park, NJ, so I'll write about the company's local move services too. I tried to order the moving containers during busy season for movers (late spring to early summer). I tried to complete the order and later cancel it, but it didn't quite work out with Door to Door. (More on this later) Still, by keeping the particulars of the move roughly the same for each order, I've made it possible for you to easily compare.
Installing a washable, reusable air filter can help save you money over disposable filters—which must be frequently repurchased (approximately every 90 days in the average suburban home, and every 60 days or sooner if you have pets). Instead of fully replacing your filter several times a year (which can be very costly), simply wash and reinstall your new K&N® lifetime washable home air filter in your cooling and heating system.
For those homes with hard water, a salt-based softener can mitigate the effects. However, these systems are limited in that they do not provide any removal or filtration of chemical contaminants. Many people find a water conditioner to be superior to a softener because a conditioner requires no salt, no backwashing, no electricity, and no maintenance.
Always clean the dryer filter after every load. This will help reduce the amount of lint going down the whole dryer duct inside your house. Having excess lint in your dryer trap can cause the dryer to work harder and even overheat. Go outside and feel the airflow coming out of the exhaust vent when the dryer is running. There should be a strong, hot flow of air once the dryer has been running a few minutes. Have the dryer ducting between the dryer and the exterior cleaned about once a year. If this duct becomes clogged, there are the possibilities of overheating and fire. Here’s a helpful link for more information
I have been using washable filters for 15 years. They are simply blasted out in my driveway with a hose (opposite of airflow), drained about 10 minutes and put back in the furnace. The furnace dries the filter out in minutes, so bacteria is never a concern. We wash them once a year, as we only run the furnace for about 3-4 months in the winter and only then about half time (live in California). Not only does it save replacing them, but saves a trip to the store, which is probably the most environmentally part. I recently had the furnace looked at by an installer and he stated we had very little dust buildup since it was last checked 9 years ago. If we need clean air in our house, we open it up for an hour or two - on warm days of course. Simple. Washable filters are cheap and environmentally friendly. Think about what happens to all those disposed of filters you toss!
Some furnaces come equipped with this filter, and there are various configurations. Find the manual and become familiar with it’s operation. You can pull out the filters and check them, make sure they are clean and in place. Hire a forced air heating specialist if you are unsure about how to operate / clean it and have them show you how it works.
Similar to fiberglass filters, disposable pleated polyester filters have a sizable surface field and a rating of 5 to 13. The pleats increase the surface area and make the furnace filters more efficient at capturing airborne particles. A pleated air filter with a medium efficiency rating can filter small to large particles. Filters with a rating of 7 to 13 provide a level of effectiveness compatible with absolute high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters, but at a lower price point.
