Using more storage units means spending more money. It also might require more drives back and forth either on the part of the company or you. That sound you hear is the swoosh of all the money being sucked out of your pockets. Still, I can understand how this option can be convenient and affordable for kids moving into the dorms and those in smaller homes and apartments. And I - as I've mentioned time and again - appreciate the thought of not having to drive this stuff on a huge truck. Yes, it's always worth repeating.
Great product, great customer service, fast shipping! I have always been a stickler on changing my filter monthly because to me it’s better to spend a few extra dollars along the way then pay a large maintenance bill. I love this service because I no longer have to remember to go to the store to buy the filters and I just replace it when it shows up at my front door!

In addition, I asked outright about Kissimmee, which is considered Orlando because of its vicinity. And the customer service rep said moving services were not available for that zip code either. This is even crazier to me because Orlando is a popular destination, especially with young people. And it is one of four cities in Florida that Door to Door claims to serve. Then, there are also colleges that the company serves for students who are moving from dorm to dorm. Even with all those covered areas and living and moving to major metropolitan areas, I was not able to make even a fake move with Door to Door. It's a small group that can actually use these services.
After reviewing the website and Door to Door® Services Offered, I was ready to call customer service and get a quote. Yes, you have to call. Live chats and online quotes do not exist for their moving services, but they are available for storage. I also looked at the areas the company serves beforehand. Although there is only one Door to Door location in New Jersey located in Randolph( which is 50 minutes to an hour by car from my home in Fort Lee), there are locations in New York that are much closer.

I found that Door 2 Door ends up adding on fees until their containers are no longer a good value for their size. I also found that promises made to me by sales associates on the phone were different than their actual procedures and charges. It seems that they promise you convenience and customer service but then when it is time to deliver on those promises, the story changes. I also found that the delivery driver of the truck was pretty rude and dismissive. I would not use them again.


Door to Door went into bankruptcy while my containers were in transit from Austin, TX to Sacramento, CA. There was NO communication from them as to where my containers were and WHO would deliver them. I googled them to find out what the heck happened to them.......no one would respond to emails or phone calls. I spent 6 weeks tracking them down and finding out that UHaul had bought them out of bankruptcy! I had to physically walk the UHaul container yard to FIND my containers. This was the WORST moving experience ever imagined.

Make your managers actually go out on calls once the sales reps are able to run company appointments. Most people in my training class had gone out on 5+ appointments before training was over, yet in our office we did not go on one. I never went to an appointment with my manager, which was rather aggravating and the compensation plan is terrible. No wonder there is such a quick turnover rate with residential sales... reps.

8p this past saturday this dude in his mid 20s came to my door selling something similar. he led on that he represented (was subbed for) the utility company. he kept insisting that he needed to see my water shutoff valve and he had something that would save me a lot of money (more money than i actually pay in water consumption!). i kept letting him talk just to shoot down his bullshit circle talking, it was more amusing for me to troll his nonsense and keep him in the cold while wasting both our times. definitely didn't let him in. interesting how others also agree this was bullshit, yet sad to know others fall for this.


On the other hand, college students who had used the moving service reported lots of back and forth because the company said it had "overbooked" and could not deliver their stuff to them on time. In the end, the students ended up paying movers to pick up their stuff and spent more than they had planned, according to a review posted by Hali M. in Stanford, CA.
Update 04/28/2018: This is actually an old update, but this video wasn't getting much traction at the time, so I didn't feel the need to provide one. The Enbridge Obundsman reached out to me to get more details of the case. After I discussed everything with them, they said they would perform and investigation and get back to me. After about a week, they called me back and said the investigation would be performed internally from here on out. They gave me no details of of what happened or if any changes are being made. I am under the impression that they changed absolutely nothing. I informed them that there are many other cases of the same type of fraud as many other victims have reached out to me in a similar situation. They said due to privacy reasons, they cannot discuss the cases with those customers and everything is dealt with on a case-by-case basis. It makes no sense to me why they would deal with something as serious as fraud on a case-by-case basis. It should be taken a whole and if there are multiple cases of fraud, then the company should be banned billing through Enbridge. Due to Enbridge not taking any action, they are essentially helping this company commit fraud. I hope this video can shine some light on the many victims falling prey to this scam and changes will be made in the future.
I have no prices to ponder. But I did check out online reviews of the storage and moving options the company offers. Door to Door has three out of five stars on Yelp. Many of the most recent reviewers ultimately chose Door to Door because the price was significantly cheaper among the portable storage container companies. However, many had mixed feelings about the customer experience when discussing the move and storage, so the question of value is up in the air.
